This match turned out to be a great confidence booster for Croydon Girls and good preparation for the tough cup game against Moseley next week.

Things didn't start off too well and it was Hamsey who had the first real chance to score after a mix up in the Croydon defence. Their lone striker found herself 1 on 1 with Chantelle in goal, but the Croydon keeper was quickly off her line to smother the shot.
This proved to be a wake up call for Croydon and from that moment onwards they took control of the game.

The strong winds were making it difficult for both teams to control the ball and the home supporters had to wait 20mins before the 1st goal as Katie strikes the ball into the top corner from 5 yards out. This was soon followed by a good left foot shot from Sian which made the score 2-0 and this to Hamsey's credit was how it stayed until half time.

The second half saw Croydon playing with the wind in thier favour and poor Hamsey just couldn't cope with this extra advantage.
Nicole soon got on the score sheet with 2 goals in 5 mins and then Sian scored with a HEADER from a corner to make it 5-0. Not to be out done Sian scored again with her right foot to complete the perfect hatrick after a great pass by Heather.
With 5 minutes left Sians scores another and then to everyones surprise Nicole scores with a HEADER from a great in swinging corner by Alexia.

This made the final score 8-0 and both the Croydon coaches were well pleased with the commanding display in the second half and despite the cold they needed to sit outside with a stiff drink afterwards to get over the SHOCK of seeing 2 headed goals in 1 match!!!!

Well done girls it was a great TEAM performance.....
